Who should attend

The course is intended for site managers and supervisors who are experienced at working within the requirements of the CDM Regulations.

Aim of Course

The CDM 2007 Regulations came into force on the 6th April 2007.
At the end of the course delegates should:

  • Be aware of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and official guidance
  • Be aware of the duties of Co-ordinator, Designer, Client, Principal Contractor and Contractor as required by the CDM Regulations
  • Be aware of the requirements for the provision of pre-construction information and the typical contents of a health and safety file
  • Be able to monitor and implement the construction health and safety plan 
  • Be aware of the requirements for providing and sharing information effectively

  • Legal position
  • Roles of Client, Designer, Co-ordinator, Principal Contractor and Contractor
  • Incorporation of the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations
  • Requirements of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations
  • Importance of design risk assessments
  • Competence and resources
  • Provision of information

Training Method

By traditional lecture, visual aids and practical demonstration.
