Any personnel involved in the controlling, movement and parking of vehicles, plant and mobile equipment on or around construction sites.

Vehicle Banks-man

Aim of Course

To enable candidates to define what a banks-man can and can’t control with site operational vehicles, recognise the hazards associated with vehicle movement and the control measures used. Recognising and using the hand signals and applying risk control measures in line with route controls.

Course Content

  • Typical legislation applying to a banks-man
  • Health & Safety (Safety signs and Signals Regulations) 1996
  • Workplace Health Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992
  • Personnel Protective Equipment Regulations 1992
  • Hand signals used in controlling vehicle movement
  • Practical assessment using vehicles on site and questioning techniques form part of the assessment process for certification.

Training Method

By traditional lecture, visual aids and practical demonstration.

Course Duration
