Roof Work and Safety (Supervisors)

Who should attend

Anyone who has site supervisory responsibility with particular responsibilities for supervising roof activities.

Aim of Course

Intended to give Site Supervisors an overview of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites, particularly those supervisors who have specific responsibility for roof activities.

Course Content

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • State the main requirements of relevant health and safety legislation
  • Prepare a risk assessment
  • Deliver a toolbox talk
  • Carry out a manual handling assessment
  • Select the correct PPE when carrying out a task
  • Recognise procedures and processes for the management of roof work safety
  • Plan and implement safe systems of work 
  •  Manage operatives, sub- contractors and plant hire requirements effectively
  • Understand new health and safety legislation for working at heights

Training Method

By traditional lecture, visual aids and practical demonstration.
